A programme with purpose

All of our sessions are guided by a comprehensive national curriculum, ensuring your progression is aligned with national standards. This curriculum sets out key learning outcomes at each stage of development so that you learn the right skills at the right time.

We see each training session is an opportunity to grow stronger, play smarter, and push the limits of what’s possible.

Our sessions aim to ensure you:

Learn from every session.

Develop both as athletes and individuals.

Can reflect on our performance and continually improve.

We expect all our players to uphold the values of Physicality, Intent, and Effort.

What we expect from you:

Physicality - play and train with power, presence, and purpose

Intent - every action with purpose, every session with direction.

Effort - 100% effort always. There is no shortcut to greatness

A focus on strength and conditioning.

To play at an elite level of rugby, you need strength, power, and confidence. This is why our training programmes put a huge focus on strength and conditioning, combining both traditional rugby training with intense gym sessions.

Gym sessions are not optional - the work we do in the gym is carefully programmed to support the physical demands of rugby, helping you develop the strength, speed, stability, and resilience needed to play at your best and stay injury-free throughout the season.

You’ll get:

Your own personalised training plan.

Coaching from qualified S&C specialists.

Support with technique to stay safe and get results.

A pathway that matches your position and stage of development.

Fuel your body. Fuel your performance.

Nutrition is a vital part of your development as a rugby player. What you eat and drink directly impacts how you train, how you recover, and how you perform on the pitch.

  • Forget the labels of “good” or “bad” — food is food. Every type of food offers different nutrients, and your choices should reflect what your body needs at that moment. Ask yourself:

“Is this helping me fuel, recover, or support my goals today?”

Whether it’s protein for muscle repair, carbs for energy, or fats for long-term fuel — it’s all part of the bigger picture. Smart nutrition is about making informed choices, not restrictions.

  • Aim to make every plate as colourful as possible. Why? Because more colour usually means more variety in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants — all key to performance, recovery, and immune support.

    • Include fruits and vegetables in every meal

    • Mix up colours (greens, reds, oranges, purples!)

    • Boost your fiber intake naturally, which aids digestion and supports overall health

Making colourful meals a habit is one of the simplest ways to stay on track.

  • Staying hydrated is just as important as getting the right food.

    • Carry a water bottle with you throughout the day

    • Sip regularly — don’t just wait until you’re thirsty

    • Drink extra after training, especially in hot weather or intense sessions

Hydration helps maintain energy, regulate body temperature, and supports muscle function. Dehydration = underperformance.

  • Your energy intake should reflect how active you are.

    • On heavy training or match days, your body will need more fuel — aim for energy-dense, nutritious meals

    • On rest or light training days, focus on quality rather than quantity

    • Don’t forget that your body still needs fuel for growth, repair, and daily function — even on "off" days

Understanding energy balance is crucial to staying strong, lean, and ready to perform.

  • If you’re not eating enough — especially on days with double sessions or matches — your body won't recover properly. This can lead to fatigue, injury, and stunted progress. Eat to perform. Eat to recover. Eat to grow.
